Lizzo responded to comments about her physical appearance, saying that “the discourse on bodies is officially tired.”
Taking to TikTok, Lizzo explained how she constantly sees people talking about her looks. “I see comments from ‘oh my god I liked you when you were fat’ to ‘oh my god why did you lose weight?’
Lizzo went on to say that some people say she needs to lose weight “for her health,” while others say it’s “too much work.”
“Are we okay?” asked Lizzo. “Do we understand the deception? Do we understand that artists are not here to fit your canon of beauty? Artists are here to make art. And this body is art. And I’m going to do what I want with the body this.
“I wish those comments cost you money, so we can see how much fucking time we’re wasting on the wrong things,” Lizzo continued. “Can we put that shit back in there please?”

Last year, Lizzo explained how she became a “body icon.”
Speaking to People, the singer explained that “her parents taught me from a very young age how America treats black people. How it treats black women.” And he said: “I saw very soon how we treat fat people.”
“I wasn’t supposed to go this far. I wasn’t going to be a millionaire. I wasn’t supposed to be a sex symbol, but I am,” said Lizzo. “I think I have a very sexy body. I’m a body icon, and I embrace it more every day.”
“What I’m doing is relying on my confidence and my power to create my own standard of beauty. And one day that will be the standard,” she said. The news comes after Lizzo decided to report abusive comments she received online.
