Lizzo and her mom jump on the Yung Gravy bandwagon with a new TikTok
Lizzo has jumped on the bandwagon of young women on TikTok dressing up as their moms (informally known as the “turn my mom into me” craze), jokingly suggesting that Sharie Jefferson-Johnson – her own mother – join Yung Gravy.

To take her on trend, Lizzo strutted Jefferson-Johnson in a merlot colored Pet Me Heart bodysuit from the shapewear line Yitty, which Lizzo co-created. The artist captioned the photo “Yung Gravy” along with a series of bulging-eyed emojis.
The joke, for those who don’t know, is that Yung Gravy (real name Matthew Hauri) has a predilection for older women. He leaned heavily into the meme himself, dropping a handful of videos of the aforementioned trend on TikTok and even posting his bio on the platform: “You like your mom better.”
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight (which was taped at this year’s MTV VMAs, where his red carpet date was Addison Rae’s mom), he explained: “On every album I put at least one song named after a MILF. : “In every album, I added at least one song with the name MILF. They have more experience. They are an underserved community, I would say, and they deserve more attention.”

In Lizzo’s life, the artist recently made a secret cameo on SZA’s new album “SOS”, which was revealed shortly after she performed “Someday At Christmas” and “Break Up Twice” on Saturday night Live. The latter song appears on Lizzo’s own recent album ‘Special’, which came out in July and received four stars from NME (as well as No. 36 on NME’s Best Albums of the Year list).
November was a busy month for the pop and soul star, marked by the premiere of his documentary You’re welcome, Lizzo from HBO Max. Before that, he released a Christmas single for Amazon Music and made two big announcements: one for a new set of North American tour dates and another for his headlining appearance at next year’s Open’er festival. He will also tour the UK and Europe from February and March.
