Listen to Turnstile’s “Holiday” as the soundtrack to Taco Bell’s new ad

Turnstile has pushed their entry into the mainstream in a somewhat unexpected way, soundtracking a new Taco Bell ad with their 2021 single “Holiday.”

The song’s synth-percussion intro and main riff can be heard throughout the 30-second promo, which follows two young women running through a Taco Bell drive-thru in search of fried nachos. A cut-down version of the ad premiered earlier this month on TikTok, and the full clip made its way to national television in the US, airing on NBC during last week’s Sunday Night Football.

Holiday” which was first released as part of the “Turnstile Love Connection” EP, all four of which were included on the band’s third studio album, “GLOW ON”. Other singles from the “community” album included ‘Mystery ‘, ‘Alien Love Call’ (with Blood Orange), ‘Blackout’, ‘Fly Again’, ‘Underwater Boi’ and ‘New Heart Design’.

As well as praise from artists such as Quicksand’s Walter Schreifels and Demi Lovato, the album earned a five-star review from NME, with Will Richards calling it “an album that goes where it wants, blazing a new trail for others they want. “step”.

Since the album’s release, Turnstile – who won the cover of NME in July – have been playing shows such as Late Night with Seth Meyers Y Jimmy Kimmel live! They’ve performed on shows like Late Night With Seth Meyers and Jimmy Kimmel Live, given NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert, interviewed Nardwuar, and appeared on the soundtrack of halo-uncertain.

The group have spent most of 2022 on tour, leading NME to label them “the live band of the summer”. Their biggest gigs include Lollapalooza, All Points East, and Roskilde festivals (where they played ping-pong with Post Malone), as well as concerts in London and Brooklyn, plus one in California, where it’s alleged fans did shit in the moshpit.

In August, Turnstile parted ways with guitarist Brady Ebert. In a statement, the band wrote: “We are extremely grateful for our time together. Our love for him continues and we wish him all the best for the future.”
