Speaking about her latest single, “The News”, singer Hayley Williams described the song as “one of those songs that came up very quickly and I was excited about it from the beginning.”
“It feels like a happy medium between classic Paramore angst and incorporating some influences we’ve always had but haven’t tapped into. See Zac [Farro] Calling the drums for this song is one of my favorite memories from the studio.”
Paramore and The 1975 recently discussed plans for a possible future collaboration.
This came after Williams recently praised 1975 frontman Matty Healy for showing his support for the band in an interview with KROQ, suggesting a future collaboration.
“Matty from The 1975 sent a very loving message to the boys and myself.
“He really liked me. He saw me talking about one of his songs and he wrote a very long thing about ‘This Is Why’ and how he came to every concert we’ve done in Manchester and that he loves the band and he hopes. We’ll hang out, so If you’re listening, let’s wait.”
SZA also recently responded to fans asking her to collaborate with Williams, telling fans that “I’ve talked to her more than you know.”
Separately, Williams said last month that he “wouldn’t dare” play the guitar on stage because of sexual comments.
