Listen to “Nose”, the new single from Sløtface
Sløtface have shared another new single, ‘Nose’, which you can listen to below.
The song is the final track taken from the project’s upcoming EP, ‘AWAKE/ASLEEP’, which has now been confirmed for a February 24th release date.
Singer Haley Shea describes the track as “a fairly general song about Sløtface’s concerns, a recurring theme in the Norwegian group’s music.”
Nose” is what I would call a fairly general song about “Sløtface’s anxiety”, a recurring theme that I always come back to. I suffer from it, how can even the smallest things trigger it and send me into a spiral of thoughts that seem impossible to stop. The refrains are then the answers from someone I love to remind me to breathe, a tactic that often helps me calm down. my thoughts, when they are done in right, by my partner, my family and my loved ones.
Nose” started when I visited Odd Martin at his Bergen studio in March 2022 to write some songs. It ended up being a very productive few days when we wrote about 7 different demos on the first day alone, and then a few were chosen to flesh them out. Day 2. “Nose” was the last song we tried at the end of that second day.
The combination of heavier, rhythmic, bass-driven verses and a big pop chorus, all with saxophonist Aksel Rønning adding a little more spice, punch and depth to the whole track, makes it one of our personal favorites from It is a European Community.”

‘AWAKE/ASLEEP’ is Sløtface’s first release since becoming a “joint project” with Shea as the only permanent member, following the departure of guitarist Tor-Arne Vikingstad and bassist Lasse Lokoy.
