Listen to Beabadoobee’s version of The Strokes’ ‘The Adults Are Talking’

Beabadoobee has shared a cover of The Strokes’ ‘The Adults Are Talking’ as part of the deluxe edition of his new album ‘Beatopia’.

‘Beatopia’ is out today (July 15) via Dirty Hit, and the deluxe version – entitled ‘The Antidote Version’ – is available exclusively on Apple Music.

The regular album is accompanied by live versions of three songs from ‘Beatopia’, as well as the Strokes version.

‘The Adults Are Talking’ appeared on the New York band’s acclaimed 2020 album ‘The New Abnormal’.

Reviewing ‘Beatopia’, NME said: “What started out as nothing more than a haven of escape in seven-year-old Bea’s imagination – a drawing an “asshole” teacher once made jokingly in front of the class – it now serves as a “feeling” of acceptance and openness.

The singer finally stops to smell the flowers and meanders leisurely through the 14 tracks of “Beatopia”, an album that feels like watching a foggy cloud float around on a warm spring day. This sense of contentment carries over to the country and folk singing of “Beatopia Cultsong,” and equally bright melodies can be found in the sparkling guitar chords of “Fairy Song” and the classical strings of “Ripples.”

The singer-songwriter will hit the road for a tour of Wales and Ireland this fall, starting at the Olympia Theater in Dublin on October 4th and ending at Brixton’s O2 Academy on October 19th. Check out the full list of tour dates below and buy tickets here.
