Lil Tjay is in for a surprise in Leeds after her absence yesterday
After not “making it to the venue” for his set at Leeds Festival 2023 on Friday (August 25), rapper Lil Tjay made it up with a surprise set at the festival today (August 26).
The American rapper was thought to have been at Main Stage West yesterday (August 25) between 4:35pm and 5:10pm, but the festival has released a statement on screens saying they were unsure of his whereabouts. “Unfortunately, Lil Tjay did not come to the venue and we have not been able to contact him. We hope he arrives soon,” the message read.
Today, however, it seems that the rapper made up for it with a surprise set at the festival at noon today: “Lil Tjay’s reading times remain the same,” wrote the official X/Twitter account of the twin festival.
Lil Tjay will be playing in Reading on Sunday 27 August at the West Main Stage from 5:10pm to 5:45pm.

According to TikTok user Chloe Harris, Lil Tjay was only allotted 30 minutes for his make-up performance in Leeds, saying the rapper was cut short after trying to play one more song.

At Reading Festival last night (August 25), frontman Sam Fender delighted the crowd with a performance worthy of a five-star rating from the NME. NME’s Andrew Trendell wrote of the performance: “Fender, an artist who deals completely with reality and sings straight to the heart of a young audience with the world at their feet, can do that even more. It is a mirror to the this audience, and that’s why he belongs more than anyone on this stage”.
