Lewis Capaldi says German ticket sales ‘out of order’
Lewis Capaldi has revealed that ticket sales for his concert in Germany are “abysmal” compared to other countries.
The Scottish singer-songwriter will release new album ‘Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent’, the first follow-up to his 2019 debut ‘Divinely Uninspired To A Hellish Extent’, on 19 May 2023.
Ahead of the album’s release, Capaldi will tour the UK and Europe in January, with a concert at the 17,000-capacity Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin.
Speaking to Ken Bruce on his BBC Radio 2 show, Capaldi said the tour is “selling well” except for the Germany date.
The singer said: “I have to say that people in Germany don’t like my music at all at the moment. Ticket sales are bad. It’s a word I don’t use very often.
And he says: “Everywhere else they tell you: ‘Oh, this will sell out, or it will sell very well, blah blah blah’, and you can see how they go up. “
The Berlin show is for 17,000 people, that fits in the stadium. And I’ve sold 1,373 tickets.”
The singer joked: “Come on Germany. Get off your ass and do something.”
