The previously announced Villain Level 99: I may be the hidden boss, but I’m not the demon lord anime revealed its visual and first trailer on Saturday, as well as information about the main cast and crew and a release date of January 2024. Studio Jumondo is animating the series.
Minoru Yamaoka directed the anime and Fumihiko Shimo wrote the script. Hitomi Kaiho and Lo Ho Kim are in charge of the character designs, and Kana Utatane composed the music. The main cast consists of:

- Yuma Uchida as Patrick Ashbatten
- Azumi Waki as Alicia Enlight
- Taku Yashiro as Edwin Walschein
- Haruki Ishiya as William Ares
- Kohei Amasaki as Oswald Grimsarde
Villain Level 99: I may be the hidden boss, but I’m not the demon lordthe anime is based on the light novel series written by Satori Tanabata. It originally launched on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in June 2018. Kadokawa acquired the series and published it in print with illustrations by Tea in May 2019. A manga adaptation is currently underway with art by Nokomi.
