The legendary hero is dead the anime will premiere on April 6 this year. Additional cast announced, as well as a new key visual and trailer featuring the series’ opening theme song ‘Dead’ by Masayoshi Oishi
The newly announced cast includes Shintaro Asanum as Diego Valentine, Sayaka Oohara as Esel Borgnine, and Hiroki Toichi as Fieri Younis. Previously announced cast members include:
- Shunichi Toki as Sion Bladan and Touka Scott
- Wataru Katō as Touka Scott
- Ayana Taketatsu as Henry Haysworth
- Hibiku Yamamura as Yuna Eunice
- Sakura Shinfuku as Millie Eunice
- Yuichi Nakamura as Kyle Osment
- Yurika Kubo as Marguerite Farom
Studio Liden Films animated the series directed by Rion Cujo. Yuu Sato is doing series composition, Yosuko Yabamoto on character design, and Akito Fujiawara on creature and prop design. A visual featuring Esel Borgnine was also revealed.
The legendary hero is dead the anime is based on a manga by Subaruichi that was serialized from 2014 to 2020. It has 202 chapters collected in 19 volumes. Shogakukan Asia describes the plot as:
It’s just your average (slightly perverted) farmer in the village of Ceza. While he dreams of being a hero and getting the girl, the real hero, Sion, fights demons that threaten to invade the world! But one day Tuka accidentally kills the hero…?! After the death of the legendary hero, who will save the world now?! Tuka quickly buries Sion’s body to hide the evidence, but wakes up the next day to find that she is no longer in her own body…!!
