Summary of Kyokou Suri
Hidden in plain sight, spirits called youkai inhabit the world. While most are benign, a subset pose a threat to the tenuous peace between youkai and humanity. Since they agreed to become the “God of Wisdom”, Kotoko Iwanaga has been a mediator between the two kingdoms, solving any supernatural problem that comes her way. At a local hospital, Kotoko becomes close to Kurou Sakuragawa, a college student whose long-term relationship ended in an unfortunate breakup. Kotoko develops feelings for him and suspects that something supernatural is hidden within his harmless appearance, so she asks Kurou to help the youkai.
Two years later, news of an idol accidentally crushed to death by steel beams floods the press. A month later, however, sightings begin to speak of a faceless woman wielding a steel beam. As with any supernatural problem, Kotoko and her partner tried to stop this spirit from wreaking havoc, but this situation may be much more sinister and personal than they thought.
