When Kubo sits next to Shiraishi in their first year of high school, Shiraishi’s nonexistent social skills get a boost. Speaking in class is just the beginning for Shiraishi—soon Kubo is getting him noticed at school, at the bookstore, and all over town. Shiraishi’s former life isn’t so boring anymore!
