Kim Kardashian has opened up about co-parenting with Kanye West in a new interview.
Kardashian and West were married for eight years and had four children during their relationship. Their divorce was finalized last month.
In a new interview on Angie Martinez’s IRL podcast, Kardashian tearfully described co-parenting as “fucking hard,” especially when it comes to protecting them from the mostly hateful and anti-Semitic comments from their recently fathered.
If they don’t know what’s being said or what’s going on in the world, why would I give them that energy?” he says, “it’s a grown-up thing that they’re not ready to deal with.”
“And when they are, we’ll have those talks. I’ll be very prepared. But until then I’ll do whatever it takes to make her life as normal as possible.
Kardashian also said she won’t badmouth West in the press for the sake of her kids: “One day my kids will thank me for sitting here and not meeting their dad when I could,” she said, “the crazy shit on fad.Thank you and I will reply privately to get everything you need.
Kardashian was one of many public figures to criticize West for his anti-Semitic comments. “Hate speech is never okay or acceptable,” he said in a statement (though without directly referring to West by name). “I stand with the Jewish community and call for an immediate end to the horrific violence and hateful rhetoric towards them.”
The group Stop Antisemitism also announced the West as “Antisemite of the Year”.
