Katsuyuki Konishi joins the Urusei Yatsura Reboot Cast as Rei

Katsuyuki Konishi is joining the cast of the upcoming reboot of Urusei Yatsura series like Rei. It was previously announced that the David Production reboot will have two back-to-back cours and begin airing in October 2022.

After all these years, I never thought I would be able to participate in Urusei Yatsura one day. At the time of writing this comment, I have not yet participated in the post record, but now I am wondering “When will I be able to participate?” I get excited every day.

Konishi has voiced numerous characters in various anime titles, including Kamina in Gurren Lagann, Laxus Dreyar in Fairy Tail, and Tanktop Master in One Punch Man. Most recently, he played the roles of Diavolo in Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Golden WindJonathan Jostar c Phantom bloodand Tengen Uzui by Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba.

Urusei Yatsura reboot trailer

The Urusei Yatsura the reboot was first announced in January of this year. It first got a key preview and trailer in May of this year. Previously announced cast members include:

  • Hiroshi Kamiya as Ataru Moroboshi
  • Sumire Uesaka as Lum
  • Maaya Uchida as Shinobu Miyake
  • Mamoru Miyano as Shutaro Mendo
  • Miyuki Sawashiro as Sakura
  • Wataru Takagi as Sakuranbo
  • Kana Hanazawa as Ran

Urusei Yatsura is based on the manga by Rumiko Takahashi and was serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday. It first received an anime adaptation by Studio Pierrot (episodes 1-106) and Studio Deen (107-195). It aired from October 1981 to March 1986.
