Kanye West calls Drake “the best rapper ever”

Kanye West called Drake the “greatest rapper ever.”

The rapper and businessman said in a new interview that his colleague is always at the top of the list of MCs.

“Drake is the best rapper ever, and I make no apologies for it,” Ye told the Drink Champs podcast. He was then interrupted by the co-founder and co-host of the podcast, NORE, who pointed out rumors that Drake had an affair with Kris Jenner, the mother of Ye’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian.

Ye’s tribute to Drake comes after the pair reunited last year, after years of back-and-forth, when the duo hosted the Free Larry Hoover benefit concert.

West’s comments about the Canadian rap star came amid a media storm over a series of controversial remarks he has made in recent weeks, including anti-Semitic, fat-phobic and racist remarks.

After his brief reappearance on Twitter, the social media platform was blocked as well as Meta (owner of Facebook and Instagram), after a series of anti-Semitic publications. A former TMZ employee also claimed that the rapper once praised “Hitler and the Nazis” during an interview with the site.

Before making his recent anti-Semitic claim, Ye called the Black Lives Matter movement a “scam” in defense of wearing a “White Lives Matter” T-shirt at Balenciaga’s recent Paris Fashion Week show. Now it’s doubled down.

On the other hand, last week Lizzo appeared to respond to Ye’s comments about her weight, saying that she is “taking care of my fat black business.”

In a recent interview on Fox News, West called what he believed to be obesity promotion by social media companies “an epidemic.” “When Lizzo loses 5 kilos and announces it, the bots … on Instagram, attack her weight loss, because the media wants to point out that being overweight is the new goal when it is not really healthy,” he told host Tucker Carlson.

Ye’s behavior led to the separation or suspension of business partnerships, including those with bank JPMorgan Chase and sportswear brand Adidas.

Since then, many artists, celebrities, politicians and organizations have publicly criticized West for his comments, including Jack Antonoff, David Schwimmer and New York congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

West contacted Page Six after cutting ties with JPMorgan on the way out of the Nashville screening, West also said in response to backlash over his anti-Semitic comments: “Hey, if you call someone mean , that means you are anti-Semitic. I’m glad I crossed the line from that thinking to being able to talk openly about things, like bank cancellations.”

West said he was “the richest black man in American history, putting $140 million into JPMorgan,” before ending the interview by saying he will “speak again.”
