The previously announced Kaminaki Sekai no Kamisama Katsudo anime has released its first trailer, as well as information on additional cast members. Studio Palette animated the series under the direction of Yuki Inaba.
Additional cast members include Junichi Suwabe as Beltrun and Aoi Yuuki as Atar. Other previously announced cast members include Akari Kito as Mitama, Junya Enoki as Masato Urabe, Kana Hanazawa as Aruraru, Megumi Ogata as Kuren, Sho Fujisawa as Roy, and Sumire Uesaka as Shiruriru.
Yoshifumi Sueda will handle the production work, while Kaori Yoshikawa will do the character designs. Information about theme songs was recently announced. The opening theme song is titled “I Wish” by Rin Kurisu, while the ending theme song is titled “Steppin’ Up Life!” by Akari Kito.
Kaminaki Sekai no Kamisama Katsudo(What does God do in a world without gods) is based on a manga series written by Aoi Akashiro and illustrated by Sonsho Hangetsuban. It was first serialized in Hero’s IncMonthly heroesfrom May 2019 to October 2020 and then transferred to Comiplex in November 2020.
The story follows the story of Masato Urabe, the son of a mysterious cult leader. Masato dies after a cult ceremony. He is reborn and discovers that the god they worship – Mitama – has also been transported to the new world with him. But the world they find themselves in now doesn’t believe in religion, and the two must figure out ways to build their following.
It also received a manga spin-off series titledKaminaki Sekai no Onee-chan Katsudo, written by Shinya Murata and illustrated by Tokisada Hayami. The manga began serialization on the Comiplex website in November 2022.
