Veteran K-pop singer BoA has made her long overdue comeback with her third mini-album “Laith liom,” along with a powerful music video for its title track.
On November 22 at 6 pm KST, BoA unveiled the music video for ‘Forgive Me,’ the lead single from her new mini album of the same name, which is out now. The ferocious new video shows the singer performing the track’s rock-tinged choreography in a decrepit warehouse. In other shots, she is sitting on top of a long table, singing the new single.
“Stop making your ham moves / The scales go back and forth / I was just being kind / You’re greedy so get lost,” BoA sings menacingly in the chorus.
‘Laith Liom’ also features four B-side tracks, namely ‘Zip’, ‘Sketch’, ‘After Midnight’ and ‘Hope’. It comes almost two years after BoA’s 10th Korean studio album “Better” dropped in December 2020.
The singer spent much of 2020 and 2021 as a judge on the South Korean dance competition series Street Woman Fighter and Street Man Fighter. BoA also hosts K-909, a newly created weekly music show.
In December 2021, BoA was revealed as a member of the rotating female supergroup SM Entertainment Girls On Top. He debuted in the group’s first unit, GOT The Beat, with the single ‘Step Back’ in January.
Besides BoA, GOT The Beat included the main singers and dancers from all the SM girl groups, such as Girls’ Generation’s Taeyeon and Hyoyeon, Red Velvet’s Wendy and Seulgi, and aespa’s Winter and Karina. In an interview with NMEKarina said her experience working with the agency headlines “beyond anything I could have ever imagined.”
BoA started as a singer in South Korea at the age of 14, in 2000, although she soon focused on the Japanese market after achieving success there. To date, he has released ten studio albums in Korean and nine in Japanese, as well as one self-titled album in English. Some of BoA’s biggest hits are “Atlantis Princess,” “Only One,” and “Kiss My Lips,” among many others.
