James Gunn Defends Chris Pratt After Calls To Replace Star – Lord

James Gunn defended Chris Pratt against calls for a remake of his Star-Lord character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The director of Galaxy Guardians responded to a comparison photo posted by fans of Pratt and Patrick Wilson, captioned “Marvel”: “Marvel. Listen to me. Just … replace.”

In response, Gunn wrote, “Why? Because of your total false belief, made up for it? Because something someone else told you about is not true? Chris Pratt would not replace it as a Star-Lord but, if ever, we will all go with him.

Asked by a Twitter user if it’s “okay, I’m part of a homophobic church,” Gunn replied, “No. I know the church you currently go to. Do you?” The answer is no.) You know, but you found out from someone who found out from someone who found out where he goes to church, so you have decided, ‘yah, okay, I believe this awful thing i heard on the internet about this celebrity! ‘) ”

Pratt joined Zoe Church, a church founded by Chad Veach which is modeled on the Hillsong Christian megaograph. In 2015, Hillsong Senior Pastor Brian Houston wrote a blog post about his views on LGBTQ people, writing, “We are a church that welcomes gay people, but we are not a church that affirms one style of worship.” It’s gay life. “

Pratt has been criticized in the past for his church affiliation. In 2019, Elliott Page criticized the actor for supporting an “infamously anti-LGBTQ” church after appearing on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert.

In response, Pratt denied that the church has anti-LGBTQ views. “I go to a church that opens its doors to everyone,” he replied. He added that “no church defines me or my life, and I am not a spokesman for any church or group of people.”

NME contacted Pratt’s representatives for comments.

Gunn is currently shooting the Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3, starring Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista and Karen Gillan. Will Poulter also joined the team as Adam Warlock, opposite Chudwudi Iwuji in an undisclosed role.

The premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 is scheduled for May 5, 2023.
