Jack White was confirmed for a secret set at Glastonbury 2022 today (Sunday 26 June).
Rumors for the long – awaited ‘TBC’ slot on The Park stage at 6pm included Arcade Fire and Green Day, but White has now been announced for production by today’s Glastonbury Free Press, a local newspaper.
“An exciting opportunity in the field of public science,” the announcement read. “Musician Jack White is looking for 10,000 live and loud people to take part in a top-secret concert music experiment. Qualified applicants must apply in person on June 26 at 6:00 pm on The Park Stage.”
White released his new solo album “Fear Of The Dawn” in April, with “Entering Heaven Alive” to follow on July 22nd.
News of the appearance of the legends The White Stripes and Raconteurs comes after George Ezra was confirmed to appear on the John Peel stage at 2pm.
Another of the groups that performed a secret surprise act over the weekend was IDLES, who showed their debut album ‘Brutalism’ in its entirety on the BBC Introducing Stage.
After Billie Eilish pioneered the first day of Glastonbury with Foals in charge of the Next Stage, last night the Pyramid Stage came to a brilliant close with Paul McCartney – starring Dave Grohl and Bruce Springsteen . Meanwhile, Megan Thee Stallion led the Next Stage last night.
