The official site for the anime adaptation of the manga ecchi written and illustrated by Eitsutsu Furukawa, Inu is Nattara Suki and Hito and Hirowareta (My Life as a Dog Inukai-san), the first promotional video of the project was revealed. The video confirms the production details and that the premiere is scheduled for January 2023 in Japan.
Furukawa started publishing the manga in the magazine Shonen R magazine from the publisher Kodansha in 2020, and the work is also published through the digital service Pocket Journal. Serialization of the manga on the service was stopped Pocket Journal in March 2022, to transfer to services Suiyobi no Sirius Y YanMaga website from the same publisher.
