Inhaler talks about impostor syndrome to open for Arctic Monkeys: “We don’t feel it’s worth it at all”
The breather shared their experience opening for the Arctic Monkeys on tour.
The Irish indie band toured Europe with Arctic Monkeys this year and plan to do so again on the European leg of their world tour in 2023. Of course, opening for “the rock band biggest in the world”, as they call themselves the led band. with Alex Turner, it gave them a feeling of impostor syndrome.
“Every night we could see them as the best rock band in the world,” drummer Ryan McMahon told Far Out. “For a band that hasn’t toured in three years, they’ve shown why they’re still on top, and their new album is so much fun to listen to. It goes back to the imposter We don’t even feel it at all.”
Elsewhere in the interview, Inhaler discussed his upcoming album “Cuts & Bruises,” which is set for release on February 17th. It will include fan favorite “Dublin In Ecstasy”, a song the band originally wrote when they were teenagers.
McMahon explained his decision to bring the theme back to the record: “Our fans were very early on with that song. We didn’t play it for four years because we fell in and out of love with it, trying to write different versions. But, in the last two concerts we’ve just given, we’ve got it back, and it’s been our way of serving our fans from the start.”
In February they will embark on a UK and Ireland tour to promote the album, before playing two of their biggest concerts to date at Manchester’s O2 Victoria Warehouse and London’s O2 Academy Brixton in May. You can see the full list of dates below and buy your tickets here.
