Hwasa Leaves Agency MAMAMOO RBW
MMAMOO member Hwasa is leaving her longtime agency RBW, the company has confirmed.
Today (June 27), RBW has released a statement, according to OSEN and translated by Soompi, that MAMAMOO’s Hwasa will be leaving the company after the contract expires. The singer has been with RBW since 2014, when she made her debut as a member of the K-pop girl group.
“We inform you that our exclusive contract with Hwasa, with whom we have worked together until now, has recently expired,” RBW said in a statement. “After careful discussion with Hwasa, we have mutually decided to end our beautiful journey together.”
“We will continue to give our full support so that activities like MMAMOO can continue individually and jointly on the sides of MOOMOO (MAMAMOO’s fandom name),” the K-pop agency said.
RBW said it offers “heartfelt thanks to Hwasa, who has been our joy and sorrow for a long time,” while asking for “support and encouragement” for the singer’s future activities.
The confirmation that Hwasa will be leaving RBW comes just hours after South Korean media reported that the singer is in the final stages of talks to sign with Psy P Nation’s agency.
At the time, P Nation noted that a contract with the singer was “currently under discussion,” adding that “a contract with Hwasa has not been confirmed.”
Hwasa is the second MMAMOO member to leave RBW, following Wheein in 2021. At that time, the latter agreed to an “extended deal” whereby she would remain a part of GMAMMOO until December 2023 on the least.
