Hero Classroom Anime Gets Visual Teaser, 2023 Premiere

The previously announced anime adaptation of the A classroom for heroes (classroom for heroes, Eiyu Kyōshitsu) light novel released a visual teaser along with a premiere date of 2023. Studios Actas animated the series with Keiichirou Kawaguchi directing.

Based on Shin Araki’s original work, the upcoming anime series will have a script written by Naoki Hayashi, and Kosuke Kawamura will do the character designs and serve as the chief animation director.

“I honestly realize that as an original author, I really want to have a work adapted. When it’s a novel, it’s an illustration. When it’s a comic, it’s the timeline. And in animation there is movement and voice. Each of these elements is something that does not exist in the written medium.

The light novel has been serialized in Shueisha’s Dash X Bunko imprint since 2015. It received a manga adaptation that has been serialized in Square Enix’s Monthly Shonen Gangan since September 2016. It also received a separate manga titled Classroom for Heroes: Empress of Flame (Eiyu Kyoshitsu: Honoo no Empress), serialized on Ultra Jump from February 2015 to August 2015.

Comicey has licensed the manga digitally in English for North America, describing the plot as follows:
Blade is a carefree transfer student whose only goal is to make friends with his classmates at Rosewood Academy, a school for heroes in training. At first glance, Blade seems like an ordinary boy, but he harbors an unfortunate secret with seeds that begin long ago, with the defeat of the Demon King at the hands of the Great Hero. Join this new class of friends as they unravel the mystery surrounding Blade and journey towards becoming full-fledged heroes!
