Hell’s Paradise: Jigokuraku Anime Gets New Trailer, Preview, Main Cast, and April 2023 Premiere
Hell’s Paradise: Jigokurakuanime has revealed a new trailer, visuals and main cast, as well as a premiere date of April 2023. MAPPA is in charge of animation and Kaori Makita is directing. Crunchyroll and Netflix will stream the anime.

Besides Kaori Makita, the staff for Hell’s Paradise: Jigokurakuthe anime features Koji Hisaki as character designer, Yoshiaki Dewa as music composer, and Akira Kindaichi in charge of series composition.
The anime is based onHell’s Paradise: Jigokurakumanga by Yuji Kaku that was serialized from 2018 to 2021 in the online magazine Shonen Jump Plus. Viz Media licensed the manga in English, while Crunchyroll will stream the anime worldwide (excluding Asia). They describe the story:
The Edo period is coming to an end. Gabimaru, a shinobi formerly known as the strongest in Iwagakure, who is now on death row, is told that he will be acquitted and released if he can bring the Elixir of Life from an island rumored to be the Buddhist Pure Land Sukhavati. Hoping to be reunited with his beloved woman, Gabimaru heads to the island along with executioner Yamada Asaemon Sagiri. Arriving there, they encounter other death row inmates in search of the elixir of life…as well as a host of unknown creatures, sinister man-made statues, and the hermits who rule the island. Can Gabimaru find the elixir of life on this mysterious island and return home alive?
