
Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy Gets Season 2 With Trailer, Visual Teaser
BAST*RD: Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy is getting a 2nd season as previously announced. The story will take place two years after the events of the first season and will cover Requiem in Hell a rainbow. The anime will air on Netflix in 2023. Special flow dedicated to the series took place today, immediately after the announcement.

The first season had a total of 24 episodes, divided into two parts. LIDEN FILMS returns to animation. Takaharu Ozaki directed the second season, with Yosuke Kuroda in the series cast. The main cast returns and includes:

- Tomori Kusunoki (Tia Nouto Youko)
- Kanae Ito (Lucien Renlen)
- Kensho Ono (Kal-Su)
- Nao Toyama (Sheila Tuell Meta-Illicana)

Kazushi Hagiwara’s manga on which the anime is based began serialization in 1988 in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. In 2000, they moved him to Ultra Jump, where they remained until 2010, when they went on hiatus. The series has a total of 27 volumes, the last of which was published in 2012. Viz Media licensed 19 volumes in English, but the series is no longer in print. Episode sixB*star!!An OVA by AIC studio was released between 1992 and 1993.

The kingdom of Metallicana is under siege by evil monster armies. Desperate defenders turn to the legend that a virgin’s kiss can awaken the sorcerer “Dark Schneider” from his slumber in the innocent boy Lucien. Thanks to his sister Yoko, Lucien becomes the powerful, depraved wizard. With demons, dragons and other dark forces roaming the land and Dark Schneider barely under control, the question remains: will Metallicana ever know lasting peace?
