Guns N’ Roses have announced another new song called ‘The General’, due out later this year.
The track will be on the B-side of the 7-inch vinyl version of his new single “Maybe”, due out on October 27th. Pre-orders are available here.
Like “Maybe”, “The General” is from the “Chinese Democracy” era and is the band’s first release since the four-song EP “Hard Skool”, which arrived in February last year.
For their part, Guns N’ Roses performed “Maybe” live for the first time on the same day the single was released at PNC Park in Pittsburgh, last Friday (August 18).
“Forgive me if I’m not running and trying so much because I’m going to try to figure out how the hell to sing live,” said frontman Axl Rose when introducing the song . “I like to think when we wrote this song it was like a perfect beginning.”
Apparently, the release of “Maybe” was scheduled for August 11, but was delayed for reasons unknown at the time of publication.
However, fans were able to hear it the next day (August 12) through an accidental leak in bars in the United States. The song, along with its possible artwork, was made available for sale on TouchTunes digital jukeboxes across the United States.
There was speculation earlier this year that Rose and company would officially re-release the song, when fans waiting for the group in Tel Aviv heard the members rehearsing “Maybe” before the concert.
