Goblin Slayer Season 2 Anime Reveals Teaser Trailer and New Studio Set for 2023 Premiere

Goblin slayer season 2 anime revealed a new trailer along with a change in studio during the GA Bunko live event held on AbemaTV titled GA FES 2023 with Danmachi’s 10th Anniversary. LIDENFILMS is animating the sequel, which was announced at the end of January 2021. The premiere date is set for sometime in 2023.

Cast members Yuichiro Umehara (Goblin Slayer), Yui Ogura (Priestess), Nao Toyama (High Elf Archer) and Gobusure-san attended the program.

The anime is based on Kumo Kagyu Goblin Slayer light novel that has been published with art by Noboru Kannatsuki under SB Creative’s GA Bunko light novel label since February 2016. The series released its latest, 16th volume in July 2022. The first anime adaptation of the series by WHITE FOX aired from October to December 2018 with a total of 12 episodes. Original video animation with title Goblin Slayer -GOBLIN’S CROWN- had a theatrical release and premiered in February 2020. It was released as a single volume on Blu-ray and DVD in July 2020.

Yen Press has licensed the light novel series for release in English and describes the plot of the first volume as:
A young priestess has formed her first adventuring party, but almost immediately they find themselves in trouble. The goblin slayer is the one who comes to their rescue – a man who has dedicated his life to destroying all goblins, by any means necessary. And when rumors of his exploits begin to circulate, there’s no telling who might call next…
