A new series of Funko POP! by Metallica will hit the shelves soon, the company announced.
James Hetfield, Kirk Hammett, Lars Ulrich and the late Cliff Burton have been immortalized as vinyl figures while watching the ‘Master Of Puppets’ era, Loudwire reports.
The set, which includes a collectible box and a step to display the figures, is the first Funko POP! by Metallica with Burton, who died in 1986 in a bus accident in Sweden. The set can be pre-ordered via Metallica.com, and will be available for purchase starting November 23rd.
Master Of Puppets” was released in 1986 and is considered one of the best metal albums of all time. It has been certified by the RIAA six times platinum. four finale, in which Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) plays it on guitar, entered the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time, charting at number 40.
The band said they were “surprised” by the Duffer brothers’ use of the song in the series. “The way the Duffer brothers put music into Stranger Things has always been of a high standard, so we were delighted that they not only included ‘Master of Puppets’ in the series, but that such an important scene was built around it. ,” the band later said on Instagram. James Hetfield later dressed up as Eddie Munson for Halloween.
Metallica isn’t the only band to turn to Funko POP figures! recently: the American toy company has also recently released The Cure miniatures.
Frontman Robert Smith posted an image of his response with the simple caption “gulp…” and Roger O’Donnell asked his fans: “I don’t know if this means we’re scaled down or scaled up.”
