
Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End Anime Reveals Fern Visual
Frieren: Beyond the Journey’s Endanime unveiled a new preview featuring the recently announced character Fern (voiced by Kana Ichinose) on Tuesday. Fern is an orphan raised by Hither and is now a mage who travels with Friren as her apprentice. She is a calm girl who sometimes acts like Friren’s mother who is careless in her daily life.

Studio Ludnitsa (A place beyond the universe) animated the series with Keiichirou Saito (Boki the Rock!) as director. Tomohiro Suzuki (One Punch Man) wrote the scripts, Evan Cole (Violet Evergarden) composed the music, and Reiko Nagasawa (bar op. Fate) designed the characters. The anime is set to premiere on September 29 with a 2-hour special. Atsumi Tanezakiis voicing the titular character Frieren, and the rest of the cast includes Nobuhiko Okamoto as Himmel, Hiroki Tochi as Heiter, Yoji Ueda as Eisen, Kana Ichinose as Fern, and Chiaki Kobayashi as Stark.
The anime is based on the manga written by Kanehito Yamada and illustrated by Tsukasa Abe. The manga has been serialized in Shogakukan Weekly Shonen Sunday’s Shōnen magazine since April 2020.Viz Medialicensed the manga in English and described the plot as follows:
The elf mage Friren and her brave fellow adventurers have defeated the Demon King and brought peace to the land. After the great fight is over, they all go their separate ways to live a peaceful life. But as an elf, Friren, nearly immortal, would long outlive the rest of her former group. How will he come to terms with the mortality of his friends? How can she find fulfillment in her own life and can she learn to understand what life means to those around her? Frieren begins a new journey to find the answer.
