French Montana's Unforgettable' by Swae Lee Receives Diamond Certification

French Montana’s 2017 hit “Unforgettable”, featuring Swae Lee, has achieved a rare Diamond certification from the RIAA, marking sales equivalent to 10 million units. To celebrate, the artist welcomed friends and associates to his home on Wednesday night for a private dinner and plaque unveiling.

Among those in attendance were Epic Records President and CEO Sylvia Rhone, XO Records Co-Founder and CEO Sal Slaiby, SALXCO VP of A&R Rahsaan “Shake” Phelps, and producer CP Dubb.

The song was a hit in all formats and its official video, featuring Ugandan youth dance group Triplets Ghetto Kids, has over 1.4 billion views on YouTube. “Most of them live in the United States now,” Montana noted.

In fact, many of the fond memories of the song’s release – shared by Slaiby and Rhone alongside FYI brand founder Tammy Brook – relate to the video, which was shot in Uganda and sparked the #UnforgettableDanceChallenge. In addition, Global Citizen helped facilitate the visit of the French to the Suubi Health Center rural clinic. It was an early example of combining a social message with a unique launch, as Brook noted, raising more than $500,000.

“It was an amazing experience to be involved with,” Rhone said of “Unforgettable,” “This doesn’t happen every day. It only happens when you have a special song. It’s a huge accomplishment.”

“I had the vision for this record even from the demo,” said Slaiby.

French noted that the diamond plaque is also a great victory for Morocco, the country where he was born and raised, and for the Bronx, where he has lived since he was 13 years old.

“Unforgettable” was the lead single from “Jungle Rules”, released by Epic Records/Bad Boy Entertainment in July 2017.

French Montana recently released the mixtape “Montega” with producer Harry Fraud. He is now launching a new joint venture, NAQI Healthcare, in partnership with the Guardian Recovery Network, which aims to “expand access to addiction treatment for privacy-sensitive clients through home and private detox services for Florida clients. ” , New York , Texas and California”.

Other diamond-certified songs include Luis Fonsi’s “Despacito” and Justin Bieber’s Daddy Yankee, Katy Perry’s “Firework,” Ed Sheeran’s “Shape of You” and Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode” featuring Drake, as well as “Havana” by Camila Cabello and “All About That Bass” by Meghan Trainor.
