Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes kick off Reading 2022 with an all-female mosh pit

Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes kicked off the action on the Reading Festival main stages today (Friday 26 August), playing a scorching early afternoon set and inciting an all-female mosh pit.

Carter and his colleagues were the first to arrive on the East Main Stage of the weekend and took it upon themselves to boost the energy of the early arrivals at the venue.

“It’s a great pleasure to be here at 12.30 in the fucking afternoon, to show you exactly what you should expect from every band here,” he told the crowd. u0026quot;What a fucking weekend you have ahead of you. Wow! Open up the mosh pit.

Later, Carter stopped by to send a message of inclusion to women and non-binary members of the community.

“These mosh pits are about very important people,” Carter said before “Wildflowers.” “Men step on the edge and hold their male friends accountable. This mosh pit is for the ladies. I promise you you won’t see a happier mosh pit all weekend.”

Then, Carter showed the energy of the crowd by emblazoning a new white vest with “Peg The Patriarchy.”

The frontman also had a bit of a wardrobe malfunction, ripping his “favorite pants” due to his sharp moves.

“If you’re not in your fucking pants, I’m going to put my pants back on,” he said while standing on stage mostly in his underwear at one point, inviting the Reading crowd to join him in an “underpants party” as they respond with chants of “take it off” before a quick flash of his bottom as he pulls on his pants.

Another highlight was when he invited the most talented fans to do a synchronized stunt.

Meanwhile, Carter and bandmate Dean Richardson recently sat down with NME to tell us all about the candy they received from Metallica’s James Hetfield, and give us the lowdown on their new Halves card game.

The 2022 reading continues today with performances from headliners Dave and Megan Thee Stallion, as well as sets from Little Simz, Glass Animals, Pa Salieu, Polo G and more.
