
Firefighter manga Megumi no Daigo is getting an anime
A press release announced that the manga is written and illustrated by Soda Masahito, Megumi no Daigo: Kyuukoku no Orange (Firefighter! Daigo of Fire Company), will have an anime adaptation premiering in 2023 in Japan. The studios do the production. Brain Baseled mashiko murata (Fumetsu no Anata e, Tsukumogami Kashimasu, Shikabane Hime: Kuro).
Masahito Soda began publishing the manga in October 2020 through the magazine. Monthly Shōnen Magazine from the publisher kodanshato be a sequel to the manga Megumi no Daigowhich he published in the journal Weekly Shōnen Sunday of shogakukan between August 1995 and June 1999, with twenty volumes. The original manga has already inspired a film adaptation titled as Me gumi no Daigo: Kajiba no Baka Yaroureleased in July 1999 and produced by the studios sunrise.
Summary of Megumi no Daigo
Fire, smoke, adrenaline and fear: when everyone runs to escape a fire, a brave few run to jump into it. Firefighters risk their lives to protect others, and Daigo Asahina always dreamed of being one of them. He has just graduated from the training academy and has just been assigned to the Medaka-Ga-Hama Fire Station. Smug and overconfident, Daigo answers a few calls and is quickly humiliated and replaced: he still has a lot to learn before he can call himself a true firefighter.
