Fans complain after Kaiser Chiefs’ Ricky Wilson ‘slurred’ and ‘forgot the lyrics’ at London show

Fans have shared their disappointment and concern that Kaiser Chiefs frontman Ricky Wilson “slurred his words” and “forgot the lyrics” at the band’s concert in London this weekend.

Kaiser Chiefs performed at London’s O2 Arena on Saturday night (November 5), and several fans took to social media during and after the show to share their thoughts on Wilson’s performance.

“At the O2 watching Kaiser Chiefs and Ricky is obviously very drunk and acting very strange, worrying tbh,” wrote one attendee on Twitter.

Another added: “Seriously, is Ricky Wilson okay? Either he flipped out on something during the Kaiser Chiefs show tonight, or he’s acting really worried. It was kind of awkward to watch.”

One fan asked how they could get a refund for “such a shocking performance”, adding that they were “really disappointed”. And they said: “as I tell my children, I am not angry, but disappointed.”

Many fans also expressed concern for the singer, sending him “good vibes” and well wishes after what appeared to be a troubled performance.

NME has contacted representatives for comment.

Last week, Kaiser Chiefs shared their new single ‘How 2 Dance’ and spoke to NME about their upcoming new album.

“I think I have December to finish the record,” Wilson said. “I guess we’ll have something early next year. But it’s so different than it was. It’s great: we don’t have homework to hand in, it’s not like school. There’s no limit there’s time and I can do whatever I want to do. But I think I want to release a record next year.

“Let’s go easy on ourselves. It will come out when it’s great. Label dates don’t matter anymore. It’s very strange, because we never signed a deal. [discográfico] from our first contract: we just make records and somebody puts them out. It’s great to be a musician now, because no one tells you what to do. It’s amazing: it lasts a long time. Nobody stops us.”
