Fall Out Boy and Metro Boomin have been added to the lineup for next week’s 2023 MTV Video Music Awards.
The ceremony will take place at the Prudence Center in Newark, New Jersey, on September 12, and the recently announced Olivia Rodrigo will also be in attendance.
Other artists performing at the 2023 VMAs include Måneskin, Doja Cat and others, along with the recently announced Featherweight. It will be Fall Out Boy’s first performance at the gala since 2007.
Taylor Swift, Doja Cat and SZA lead the nominations list, which was announced last month.
Swift leads with eight nominations, SZA has six and Doja Cat, Kim Petras, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj and Sam Smith have five each. The entire group of artists is also up for this year’s Video of the Year category.
At the 2023 VMAs, Shakira will receive the Video Vanguard award, which Nicki Minaj won in 2022, while Madonna, Janet Jackson, LL Cool J, Jennifer Lopez and Missy Elliott have been honored on other occasions.
Diddy will also receive the Global Icon Award and perform at the event.
On the other hand, Fall Out Boy has announced a tour of the United States in 2024 with Jimmy Eat World. The “So Much For (2our) Dust” tour will kick off on February 28th in Portland, with stops in Seattle, Austin, Orlando, Baltimore, New York, Nashville, Milwaukee, etc., before wrapping up on April 6th in Minneapolis. Maine, Hot Mulligan, Daisy Grenade, Games We Play and Carr will also join the band as opening acts on the tour. You can buy tickets here.
