Enter Shikari have announced a new collaboration single with Wargasm titled ‘The Void Stares Back’.
The band from St Albans released their sixth and latest studio album, ‘Nothing Is True & Everything Is Possible’, in April 2020. Wargasm, meanwhile, are preparing for their debut project ‘Explicit: The Mixxxtape’ ‘ to be released this summer.
Today (August 3), it was revealed that the two groups have reunited for an upcoming track. ‘The Void Stares Back’ is coming out next Friday (12th August) – you can pre-order/pre-save it here.
The two bands shared the official artwork for the joint single, which depicts a pair of open eyes surrounded by darkness. A combination of the Enter Shikari and Wargasm logos can be seen in white and red in the upper left corner.
The announcement tweet also includes a new press image of the two groups together.
Enter Shikari will be playing at Reading & Leeds 2022 later this month. They will be performing on Main Stage West ahead of D-Block Europe and Bring Me The Horizon. The remaining entries are available here (Reading) and here (Leeds).
Wargasm will tour the UK and Ireland next October, following a string of festivals in Europe and the US. You can find the remaining (UK) entries here.
In June, the duo spoke to NME about what fans can expect from their upcoming “Explicit…” mixtape and debut studio album.
“It’s less about making the mixtape catchy and about having good, polished singing,” explained Sam Matlock. “It’s more about fucking and seeing what it feels like.”
The group revealed that their first full-length album was also “nice”, and that there will be “some fresh, hard shit.”
‘Exlicit…’ has already been promoted by recent singles ‘Fukstar’ and ‘DRILDO’. The exact release date of the mix is not yet known.
