Elizabeth Olsen has said she was “frustrated” with the Marvel Cinematic Universe after losing interested roles.
The actress, who currently plays Wanda Maximoff in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, opened up about her commitment to Marvel saying he sacrificed other roles for her.
“It took from the physical ability to do certain jobs that I thought were more aligned with what I enjoyed as a member of the community,” Olsen told the New York Times. “And this is for me to be the most honest.”
“I started to get frustrated,” she continued. “I had this job security but I was losing these pieces that I felt were more a part of who I am. And the longer I got out of that, the less I considered myself. for him. “
Olsen in particular quoted Yorgos Lanthimos’s The Lobster, saying it was “sad” to lose the role since it was contracted by Marvel at the time.
Olsen, on the other hand, recently responded to critics calling Marvel movies “a kind of fine art.”
“I’m not saying we do indie art movies, but I think that takes away the clarity from our team, which bothers me,” he told The Independent.
“These are some of the most incredible set designers, costume designers, camera operators … I think that they will be reduced to that criticism that will go away from all the people who make award – winning films and work on these projects too. “
