Drake delivers a new tribute to Takeoff, “legendary and unprecedented

Drake has paid a new tribute to the late Migos rapper Takeoff, describing him as “legendary” and “unprecedented”.

Takeoff, whose real name is Kirsnick Khari Ball, was shot to death at a bowling alley in Houston, Texas early Tuesday morning (November 1). I was 28 years old.

A preliminary autopsy report has since confirmed that Takeoff died as a result of “penetrating gunshot wounds to the head and torso to the arms.” The full report is not yet complete.

After Ball’s death, Drake shared an image on Instagram of himself performing live on stage with the artist.

“I have the best memories of all of us seeing the world together and bringing light to every city we touch,” she captioned the photo. “That’s what I’ll focus on right now. […] easy rest space man.

As Complex reports, the ‘Honest, Nevermind’ star praised Takeoff during the opening segment of his Table For One radio show on SiriusXM last night (November 3).

In a statement released after Takeoff’s death, Migos’ record label Quality Control Music wrote: “It is with a broken heart and deep sadness that we mourn the loss of our beloved brother Kirsnick Khari Ball, known to the world as Takeoff.

“Senseless violence and a stray bullet have taken another life from this world and we are devastated. Please respect his family and friends as we all continue to process this significant loss.”

Houston police asked for witnesses to come forward to help identify the gunman who fired the fatal shot.

On the other hand, tributes to Takeoff came from Beyoncé, Dave, Tyler, The Creator, 50 Cent and Rick Ross.
