Talk Show have shared an energetic new song titled ‘Leather’, taken from their upcoming EP ‘Touch The Ground’.
The new EP from the London quartet will go on sale on September 23 via Missing Piece, and will be produced by Hot Chip duo Joe Goddard and Al Doyle.
About the new track, singer Harrison Swann said: “[La baterista] Chloe [MacGregor] he took the lead on this track by introducing a big breakbeat style drum part, and we went for it.
“It was natural for me to sit back and let the other parts take the lead. With the sharp guitar and heavy bass lines, we didn’t want to compete with each other, so it helped to have little repeating phrases , which would fit. in the gaps.” We wanted to build an atmosphere, something dynamic, rather than tell a story.”
Swann added: “We wanted something that had a bit of bite to it, that really reflected what we were listening to to inspire us. It’s our favorite song on the EP, and it feels different . that comes to life when we do it.” Whether it’s at festivals or small venues, I love it.”

The first taste of “Touch The Ground” was released late last year in the form of the single “Underworld.” “This was the first of the ‘new baptism’ we started with,” Swann said of ‘Underworld’ in a statement. “It’s our very own ‘Born Slippy’.
“Chrome and locking really came together in the way we approached the other tracks. Rhythm first. Vocals and guitars second. Starting with a techno drum beat and a bunch of noise beats, it’s a high-energy intro is this track for the orchestra. New EP and statement of intent.”
Talk Show first worked with Joe Goddard last year on a two-part collaboration with house music DJ Eli Brown. Brown first shared the track “Trouble”, which the Talk Show did its own version of with Goddard’s help.
