Dave joins forces with Stormzy and AJ Tracey at Reading festival

Dave was joined by special guests Stormzy and AJ Tracey during his performance at the Reading Festival last night (August 26).

The rapper headlined the first night of the festival alongside Megan Thee Stallion, playing a career-long set of tracks from his two studio albums.

As well as a cover of Headie One’s “18HUNNA”, Dave was joined by AJ Tracey to perform “Thiago Silva”, and later in the set, Stormzy took the stage to perform “Clash”, returning the favor Dave him. last summer by stepping out during Stormzy’s headlining gig at the festival.

Meanwhile, on Friday in Reading, Megan Thee Stallion invited two groups of fans to come up on stage to dance with her. At the start of her performance, Stallion said the security guards would not allow any fans on stage. Later, he brought a security guard up on stage and told fans that he was going to help his “beauty” on stage.

Before his arrival, Stallion said there are “rules” about when they are on stage. One was “not being on the phone all the time” and the other was “fuck things up”. He told the audience to “show you some love”.

Reviewing Dave’s set, NME wrote: “His show rises to the occasion: Dave opens with the somber ‘We’re All Alone’, backed by a live band and a twisted metal cage reminiscent of heartbreak Although the live band is dressed in black. and even the visuals on the black and white screen, Dave is seen in a colorful denim two piece suit – a stark contrast.

“During his performance, he uses a string quartet to add to the drama. His musical talent is no secret either, and within ten minutes of his performance he is on the keys, soloing, creating a beautiful melody to end his add to his first subject.” .

Reading & Leeds 2022 continues today with performances from Arctic Monkeys, Bring Me The Horizon, Fontaines DC and Wolf Alice.
