The upcoming Date a Live V (Season 5) released the first set of character previews. The visual features the designs of the main character, Shido Itsuka (CV: Nobunaga Shimazaki), and the main character, Tohka Yatogami (CV: Marina Inoue). Live Match V was announced at the end of Meet IV live final episode. The end of season 4 foreshadowed that a war was coming and we can expect season 5 to be different and darker compared to the first 4 seasons as the main antagonist will finally show up in the present. Studio GEEKTOYS is in charge of the animation with Jun Nakagawa as the director.
There is no word yet on the air date of the series. The Live meeting franchise will also have a special program that will release new information about Season 5 at the “Fantasia Bunko Big Thanks Online 2023” event on October 14, 2023.
Live meeting premiered in 2013 at AIC+ studio. It was followed by season 2 in 2014 by IMS production. The same studio is working on an anime film titled Live Encounter: Mayuri’s Judgment in 2015 JC Staff animated a 3rd season in 2019 In 2020 two separate films titled Live Encounter: Dead or Bullet, and Live Dating: Nightmare or Queen there were theatrical screenings. Live meeting is a series of Japanese light novels by Koshi Tachibana. Fujimi Shobo serialized it with Tsunako’s illustrations from 2011 to 2020 and has a total of 22 volumes available. Yen Press licensed the originalLive meetingseries of light novels in English and describes the plot as:
April 10. First day of school. Shido Itsuka is rudely awakened by his personal alarm clock – his little sister. It was shaping up to be another typical day… well, as typical as it gets on a planet plagued by massive spatial earthquakes. But little does Shido know that his life is about to take a sudden turn when he encounters the source of this destructive phenomenon – a girl his own age, apparently known as Spirit. Turns out there are only two ways he can stop her from unleashing hell on the world: eliminate her by force, or appease her… by taking her out on a date and making her fall for him!
