
Choi Yena released his first album “Love War” this month
Choi Yena will be back with new music this month with the release of the solo album “Love War.”
The former IZ*ONE singer revealed her new music earlier this week on January 2nd with a cryptic teaser that looks like gloved hands holding each other. Choi later announced new details about his next project, now called ‘Love War’ in a promo shared earlier today (January 4).
Although the details of the track list are not yet known, “Love War” is Choi’s first solo album and will be released on January 16 at 18:00 KST.
Love War” comes just over five months after the K-pop idol released his second mini-album, Smartphone, in August of last year, which is headlined by the title track. Choi co-wrote that song and on two of the four B-sides of the album, ‘Make U Smile’ and ‘WithOrWithout’.
Prior to the release of “Smartphone”, Choi made his solo debut last January with his first EP “Smiley”, and a self-titled single featuring music from singer-songwriter BIBI. Of the five tracks on the record, the singer co-wrote four, namely ‘Smiley’, ‘Lxxk 2 U’, ‘Pretty Boys’ and ‘Before Anyone Else’, the last of which he helped with her to write too.
Choi was also part of a five-idol collaboration at the recent Gayo Daejejeon music festival – completed by former LOONA singer Chuu, Yuqi (G)I-DLE, Choi Yoo-jung Weki Meki and Arin OH MY GIRL -, where she performed They performed a special version of KARA’s 2011 single “Céim”. Singers born in 1999, the year of the rabbit in the lunar calendar, took part in the performance to celebrate the new year. The original theme was first published in 2011, which was the last Year of the Rabbit.
