
Chainsaw Man Anime Reveals Blu-Ray Volume 1 Cover, Special Event Announced
of MAPPA A man with a chainsaw anime has revealed the jacket cover artwork for the first volume on Blu-ray and DVD along with bonus information. The volume compiles the first three episodes and will be released on January 27, 2023. It was also announced that the anime will hold a special event on May 20, 2023.
Before we get to the first volume, the special storage box (available at the MAPPA store, more info below) has an illustration that references famous Hollywood movies: The glow (Denji), Kill Bill (power), Clockwork orange (Aki Hayakawa), and Jurassic Park (Honors). More illustrations to come later.

The anime will have a total of four Blu-ray and DVD volumes available at prices of ¥7,480 (≒$54) for Blu-ray per volume and ¥6,380 (≒$46) for DVD per volume. For those who buy all the volumes, a producer bonus like a Chainsaw Devil Pochita smartphone ring will come. Two bonus items are available in the official MAPPA store: the special box mentioned above and acrylic character stands using newly drawn illustrations.


Chainsaw Man Special Event – May 2023
The special event is divided into two parts, a matinee and an evening. There will be live performances by artists, a stage by cast members where viewers can feel the building of the anime’s world. Event limited items will be available. The first two volumes on Blu-ray and DVD will constitute a priority ticket to apply for the ticket sale; volume 1 for the matinee and volume 2 for the evening. Animation studio MAPPA animatesA man with a chainsawanime based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga of the same name serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from December 2018 to January 2021 for a total of 11 volumes. The second part of the series is published on Shueisha’s online manga service Shonen Jump+. The series surpassed 16 million copies in circulation with the release of the 12th volume on October 4. The anime adaptation was voted the most anticipated anime of Fall 2022 by Anime Corner fans.
