A man with a chainsaw the anime’s uncredited opening video has surpassed 50 million views on YouTube since it was posted on October 12, 2022. The video was uploaded to MAPPA’s official channel and is currently the most viewed video there, followed by the anime’s teaser trailer with over 16 million views. Animation studio MAPPA animatesA man with a chainsawanime based on Tatsuki Fujimoto’s manga of the same name serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump from December 2018 to January 2021 for a total of 11 volumes. The second part of the series is published on Shueisha’s online manga service Shonen Jump+. The series surpassed 16 million copies in circulation with the release of the 12th volume on October 4. The anime adaptation was voted the most anticipated anime of Fall 2022 by Anime Corner fans.
