The official website and Twitter account of Boki Rock anime revealed the preview for episode 11 on Tuesday. On the first day of the school festival, Nijika and Ryo went to Hitori and Kita’s school festival where they visited one of the maid cafes. The rest of the band then prepares for the concert on the second day. The school festival episode will premiere on Saturday, December 17.
Yusuke Yamamoto (Wonder Egg priority director of episode 6) will direct and handle the script of episode 11, while Hirohiko Sukegawa (The asteroid in love episode 2) will act as the animation director. Studio CloverWorks animated the series with director Keichiro Saito. Erika Yoshida wrote the screenplay while Kikuya Tomoki composed the music. Kerorira is the lead animation director and character designer.
The anime adapts the 4-koma manga by Aki Hamaji, which was serialized in Houbunsha’s seinen manga magazine Manga Time Kirara Max. Crispy rollstreams the anime and describes it as:
Hitori Gotoh, “Bocchi-chan”, is a girl who is so introverted and shy around people that she always starts her conversations with “Ah…” During her middle school, she started playing the guitar, wanting to join a band , because she thought it could be an opportunity even for someone shy like her to shine as well. But since she had no friends, she ended up practicing guitar for six hours every day all by herself. After becoming an accomplished guitarist, she uploaded videos of herself playing the guitar on the Internet under the name “Guitar Hero” and dreamed of performing at her school’s cultural festival concert. But not only was she unable to find band friends, before she knew it, she was in high school and still couldn’t find a single friendship! She was really close to shutting down, but one day Nijika Ijichi, the drummer in the Kessoku Band, reached out to her. And because of this, her daily life began to change little by little…
