Bocchi the Rock anime gets illustration of Bocchi and Kita in maid costumes by Kin-Iro Mosaic Author

Boki Rock got a new illustration of Goto Hitori (Bochi) and Ikuyo Kita for episode 9 by Yui Hara, known as the author of Kin-iro mosaic series that was serialized in Hobunsha’s monthly magazine Manga Time Kirara Max. The official Twitter account posted supporting illustrations drawn by different artists for each episode and released an illustration by YuriYuri author Namori last week. The anime airs every Saturday.

The newly released artwork features Goto Hitori and Ikuyo Kita in maid costumes. Both are holding pieces of cake decorated with a guitar and musical notes and the name of the series, which stands for BTR Boki Rock, can be seen on a star-shaped plaque. The pale looking Boki is fed by Ikuyo with a happy expression on her face.

Yui Hara serialized Kin-iro mosaic manga series from 2010 to 2021 with a total of 12 volumes, including one volume for a special arc Kin-iro Mosaic Best wisheswhich was published in March 2021.

CloverWorks Animation StudioBoki the Rock!anime is animated under the direction of Keichiro Saito based on Aki Hamaji’s 4-koma manga serialized in Hobunsha’s monthly magazine Manga Time Kirara Max. The series released the fifth compiled volume on November 26, 2022. The anime has been airing since October 8.

Hitori Gotoh, “Bocchi-chan”, is a girl who is so introverted and shy around people that she always starts her conversations with “Ah…” During her middle school, she started playing the guitar, wanting to join a band , because she thought it could be an opportunity even for someone shy like her to shine as well. But since she had no friends, she ended up practicing guitar for six hours every day all by herself. After becoming an accomplished guitarist, she uploaded videos of herself playing the guitar on the Internet under the name “Guitar Hero” and dreamed of performing at her school’s cultural festival concert. But not only was she unable to find band friends, before she knew it, she was in high school and still couldn’t find a single friendship! She was really close to shutting down, but one day Nijika Ijichi, the drummer in the Kessoku Band, reached out to her. And because of this, her daily life began to change little by little…
