BLEACH 2022 premieres on October 10 and will air in four split courses

The anime adaptation of 2022 BLEACHwhich covers Arch of the Millennium Blood War, will premiere on October 10. The anime will air in 4 courses that will not be consecutive (it will not air season after season). That means the anime should be around 50 episodes long, assuming each course is at least 12 or 13 episodes long. Studio Pierrot is in charge of the production and Tomohisa Taguchi is the director. A new trailer was revealed:

Masakazu Morita and Yuki Matsuoka reprise their roles as Ichigo and Orihime. Takayuki Sugo joins as Yhwatch. The anime staff includes:

  • Director: Tomohisa Taguchi
  • Character Designer: Masashi Kudo
  • Series cast: Masaki Hiramatsu, Tomohisa Taguchi
  • Chief Animation Director: Michio Hasegawa, Sei Komatsubara, Kumiko Takanayagi
  • Music: Shiro Sagisu

TheBLEACHcreator Tite Kubo recently gave a special interview where he talks about his involvement in the animation production process and what he’s most excited about. He said that he made many suggestions about the combat and color design, and that fans can expect a faithful adaptation from Studio Pierrot based on what he’s seen so far. The studio previously produced Tite Kubo’s original TV anime adaptationBLEACHmanga that aired between October 2004 and March 2012 with a total of 366 episodes.VIZ Mediahave licensed it in English and they describe BLEACH 2022 Story (TYBW):

BLEACH 2022 (Millennium Blood War Arc) will premiere exactly 18 years after the original start of the anime and over 10 years since it ended.
