Ashnikko announcing a Surprise Concert at Reading Festival 2023
Ashnikko will play a secret gig at Reading Festival 2023 today (25th August) – find out all the details below.
On the day the pop star releases his first album ‘WEEDKILLER’, they will be on the Poblachta stage at Reading Festival at 4pm.
It is not yet clear if there will be a series in Leeds later this weekend.
In their review of Ashnikko’s debut album, NME said: “The North Carolina singer could have been spouting vague platitudes about trap punk instrumentals, as she did on her previous mixtape, ‘Daredevil,’ from 2021. But on ‘WEEDKILLER’ hides. an artistically sophisticated argument for feminism.”
The return of both festivals kicks off today (August 25) at Richfield Avenue and Bramham Park, headlined by The 1975, Shirley, Billie Eilish, The Killers, Sam Fender and Imagine Dragons.
Several secret sessions were also announced over the weekend, with more rumors to come. Check here all the rumors and confirmations.
Earlier this week (August 21), Soft Play – formerly known as Slaves – announced that they will be playing the Festival’s Republic Stage at 7.45pm on Saturday (August 26) in Reading and at 7.20pm on the Sunday (August 27) in Leeds.
Bombay Bicycle Club have then confirmed a performance on BBC Radio 1’s Dance Stage in Reading at 12 noon on Friday. This is the group’s first performance in nine years.
“When we first opened the festival in 2007 the gates weren’t open when we left,” they wrote, “so we hope to see more of you there this time. We can’t can’t wait to see you there tomorrow.”
