For his part, Kato started publishing the manga in the magazine Jump SQ from the publisher Shueisha in April 2009. The work inspired a twenty-five episode anime adaptation made by the studios Pictures A-1 under the direction of tensai okamura and scripts written by Yamaguchi gamewas released in April 2011. The second season titled as Ao no Exorcist: Kyoto Fujouou-hen (Blue Demon: Kyoto Saga) for the first time in January 2017 with a total of twelve episodes.
Summary of Ao no Exorcist
Humans and demons are two sides of the same coin, just as Assiah and Gehenna are, their respective lives. The only way to travel between the two worlds is through possession. However, Satan, the ruler of Gehenna, could not find a worthy vessel and is therefore locked in his life. In a desperate attempt to conquer Asia, he sends his son, with the aim that he will be a worthy vessel in the future who will be able to be king of the demons.
The story follows Rin Okumura, who seems to be a normal boy, until one day he is ambushed by demons. His life is turned upside down when he discovers that he is the son of Satan and that his father wants him to return to Asiah together at last.
