Ladytron have announced the 20th anniversary reissue of their second album, “Light & Magic”, and have shared a video of the album’s previously unreleased title track.
The anniversary edition of “Light & Magic” – which originally came out in 2002 – will go on sale on September 17, and the band promises to release a series of previously unreleased material to go with it.
The first of those releases is the music video for the title track, which can be seen below:
Speaking about the clip, the band said “when we released ‘Light & Magic’ the title track was expected to be a single later, so it would need a video clip of its own. But we were on tour and we toured. We had all this beautiful slide film and we were thinking of animating it somehow, like a 70s sci-fi title sequence: “Sapphire And Steel” or something. highway, plans were changed and ideas were forgotten. It’s been twenty years like that.”
After the release of “Light & Magic,” Ladytron was invited to write and produce tracks for Christina Aguilera’s 2010 album “Bionic,” and last year, the album’s lead single “Seventeen” went viral on TikTok.
The band released their sixth self-titled album back in 2019, and followed it up with a series of remixes.
Speaking of the group, Brian Eno once said: “Ladytron are, in my opinion, the best of British pop music. They’re the kind of band that really only come out of Britain, and this fun mix of eccentric art school going around. dressing up, with full awareness of what’s going on everywhere musically, which is kind of knitted and woven into something new.”
Eno will release his 22nd studio album “FOREVERANDEVERNOMORE” on October 14th.
The 10-track album has been produced at his studio in West London and, according to a press release, Eno performs most of the tracks for the first time on an album since 2005’s ‘Another Day On Earth’.
