Anitta has said she will “definitely” end her singing career in the next six years.

The singer, who is nominated for Best New Artist at the Grammy Awards ceremony this Sunday (February 5), announced in a new interview that she is too ambitious to stick to one career.

Reflecting on her ten-year struggle to break through as a Brazilian artist, the soloist told Billboard that she will “definitely, definitely” be looking for new opportunities.

She said she loves “changes, challenges and trying new things” and is keen to develop her career as an actress, telling the outlet that she has already been invited to star in several films.

Speaking about her music career, which took the leap to the US last year with the release of her fifth album “Versions Of Me” and her worldwide Spotify single “Envolver”, the singer said: “It was I really wanted this. because I heard so many times that it was impossible, and I wanted to show that it wasn’t, that someone could do it”.

Anitta recalled the days she spent struggling in Brazil to advance her career. When faced with the argument that the Brazilians could not break America, he said “he could not accept it.”

In another part of the interview with Billboard, Anitta recounted the time when she would perform in Brazil on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and then fly to the United States to work during the a week before she returned to Brazil to perform at the weekend.

He did all this while taking English classes and doing study sessions in English to get used to recording in that language. “It was crazy,” she says, adding that she was “so tired.”

Anitta is up against the likes of Wet Leg, Latto, Måneskin and Omar Apollo this weekend in the Best New Artist category.

The 65th Grammy Awards ceremony will be broadcast live from the Arena in Los Angeles this Sunday from 5:00 pm to 8:30 pm PT on the CBS television network. It can be seen live and on demand on Paramount+.
